MASTER MAINTENANCE TECH Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of U.Va.'s buildings, infrastructure and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties. The Master Maintenance Technician independently responds to all emergency calls and maintains all equipment to ensure proper operation during scheduled absence of primary work force. The incumbent maintains all systems in an operational condition and provides a safe and comfortable environment. The position will work Monday through Friday, 3:00PM to 11:30PM. The successful candidate will have a High School Diploma or Equivalent, with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical or HVAC. The Electrician supports Facilities Management's goal of providing consistent, cost effective, and reliable maintenance and service to the University facilities. Electricians perform work of moderate difficulty which involves repairing, installing, connecting, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment in buildings. Electricians are not to work on any voltage exceeding 600 volts. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of four years’ experience in the electrical field. A Journeyman Electrical license and a valid Driver’s license are also required. UTILITY SYSTEMS WELDER SR. Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of U.Va.'s buildings, infrastructure and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties. The Utility Systems Welder Senior provides technical support and performs welding and cutting on a variety of metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, and plastics such as HDPE, PE, and PVC. Duties include repairing, maintaining, and installing steam, condensate, heating hot water, chilled water, domestic water, storm, sanitary sewer, waste stacks, vents, plumbing fixtures, gas, and similar systems; pipefitting; welding to ANSI/ASTM B31.1 X-ray standard for heating distribution piping and other applications; fabricating containers and structural supports; and general work on equipment or systems in plants, steam tunnels, and the utility infrastructure. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 7 years' experience in the pipe welding is required. A Welding X-Ray certification and valid driver’s license are also required. FLEET SERVICE COORDINATOR Facilities Management (FM) supports the University of Virginia's wide range of research, academic and patient care programs. With over 1,200 employees dedicated to excellence, Facilities Management is responsible for the day-to-day operation, repair and maintenance of U.Va.'s buildings, infrastructure and grounds as well as other University-owned and leased properties. The Fleet Service Coordinator is responsible for technical and routine administrative work, coordinating the servicing, maintenance, and repair of automotive equipment. The Fleet Service Coordinator will also handle commissioning and decommissioning of the University's automotive equipment. The incumbent efficiently compiles data for records and statistical information pertaining to the fleet. The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of experience with automotive service writing, automotive industry or similar service-writing field.
